TWO WORKS BY ANI COLLIER WILL BE EXHIBITED AT CENTRAL BOOKING GALLERY’S OFFILINE SPACE IN NYC GAINESVILLE, Fla, February 3, 2017 — Black C Art Gallery is pleased to announce Ani Collier’s participation in NYC, an exhibit hosted by Vellum Magazine at CENTRAL BOOKING Gallery’s OffLINE Space on the Lower East Side.
NYC is an exhibit comprised of fourteen artists which were selected by curator Stephanie Young, editor of Vellum Magazine. NYC will run from March 2 to March 19, 2017, coinciding with the Armory Show, and will also be featured in a special edition of the magazine. Collier has two pieces in the exhibit from her New York Series: Architexture and A View from the Harbor. Both works are digital collages produced by Collier in 2013.
Vellum Magazine’s goal for the exhibit was to expose new and underrepresented artists in various media. Following the exhibit, a special edition of Vellum Magazine featuring the project will travel to art fairs around the globe including Art Basel, Liste, Zona Maco Foto, Artissima, Art Basel Miami Beach, Zona Maco Mexico, Art Brussels, Art Basel Hong Kong, Art Miami, Context NY, Art Paris, Art-O-Rama, FIAC, Expo Chicago, and Arco Madrid.
Curator Stephanie Young speaks about the inspiration behind NYC: “New York City has always been a melting pot of not only people but ideas, hopes and dreams. What is captured through the work of these fourteen artists is a mood that is reflective of a huge metropolis. It can be literal, metaphorical or biographical but something in the narrative shows us a glimpse of this great city in a unique and timely way.”
The opening for NYC will be on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at CENTRAL BOOKING Gallery’s OffLINE Space at 21 Ludlow Street, New York, NY 10002.
