Lennie Kesl to be Exhibited at Black C Art Gallery

GAINESVILLE, Fla, May 12, 2017 — Black C Art Gallery is pleased to announce that it will feature works by the renowned artist and professor, Lennie Kesl, in an exhibit in honor of his birthday on June 12.

Lennie Kesl: A Birthday Celebration will open on May 26 and will remain open until July 22, 2017. The exhibit will consist of more than twenty-five works from different stages of Kesl's career, all of which will be for sale. Among the works included are Kesl’s Beach Scene Series from the 2000s, his Blouse Series from the 1970s and 1980s, large gouache paintings from the 1970s, and etchings from the late 1960s.

Black C Art Gallery owner, Ani Collier, shared: “Allison VanDenend and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to show Lennie’s work at the gallery. It’s our pleasure to celebrate his life by showing his artwork – although I wish that he was still here with us. I only knew Lennie for a short time, but he made a strong impression on me as I began my career as an artist and photographer.”

A VIP Preview will be held on Thursday, May 25 from 5:30—7:00pm and a private birthday party for Lennie’s family and friends will take place the next day from 6:00—7:00pm. The opening of Lennie Kesl: A Birthday Celebration will coincide with May’s Art Walk on Friday, May 26, 2017 from 7:00 to 9:00pm. Black C Art Gallery is located in Union Street Station at 201 SE 2nd Avenue, Suite 111 in downtown Gainesville.
